Former CEO of Project Veritas James O'Keefe backstabbed by the very board that would never have existed without him

Will Project Veritas exist without the public image of Project Veritas?

By Jessica Schultz Pleasant

On February 20, 2023, fans of former CEO of Project Veritas James O’Keefe were shocked by the news O’Keefe would be resigning as CEO of Project Veritas. After breaking one of the largest medical stories in history involving Pfizer and their vaccine developments, O’Keefe was forced out of the organization he founded in his father’s New York garage, in 2010. O’Keefe released a video explaining how events unfolded behind the scenes. O’Keefe was secretly removed from his position by the organization’s board while on paid time leave. According to O’Keefe, what followed was Project Veritas releasing false information that often appeared contradictory.

O’Keefe believes the breaking news of the Pfizer story may have to do with the disgraceful push for O’Keefe to resign. On February 02, 2023, Project Veritas released undercover footage of Pfizer employee Jordon Trishton Walker. Believing he was on a date, Pfizer official Walker bragged about his position with Pfizer and his access to confidential information.

According to American Military News, “The official, Jordon Trishton Walker, is described on “internal Pfizer docs” shared by O’Keefe as a director of research and development, strategic operations and mRNA scientific planning.”

In the undercover footage of Walker, he explained Pfizer saw the COVID pandemic was a “cash cow”. Walker appears a proponent of experimenting with new virus mutations while developing vaccine cures for others.

In the second video released by Project Veritas, Walker was confronted with the undercover dinner date video, Walker began claiming he was “trying to impress a person on a date by lying.” After the disturbance began Walker became like a caged animal in confusion. He demanded the door to the restaurant to be locked to keep O’Keefe and his crew from leaving before the police could arrive to Walker’s call for police.

The PV filming crew attempted to leave. The owners were asked to unlock the door due to Walker’s mental decline. Walker flew around the restaurant’s dining room and throwing and knocking over furniture, reminiscent of a panicked deer unknowingly crashing through a family living room window.

Returning to the present, O’Keefe does not feel it is a coincidence his ousting from PV came immediately after breaking the biggest Big Pharm stories of corruption ever to be reported. O’Keefe describes he was placed on paid time off, supposedly for a well needed vacation. While he was away hiking with Robert Kennedy, Jr., the board of PV held meetings to remove O’Keefe as CEO and all his authorities.

On Feb. 9, 2023, News Week reported PV director, Daniel Strack released an internal message to employees, claiming O’Keefe was on “a few weeks of well-deserved” time off with pay. Strack’s comments left many questions unanswered as the PV team had to digest decisions of those in power. O’Keefe is well loved by many of the employees at PV.  Those loyal and talented work horses taking on the world one story at a time.

According to News Week, “There are 65+ employees at Project Veritas dedicated to continuing the mission to expose corruption, dishonesty, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions," the statement added. "To our supporters: We hear you, we care about you, and we will never give up."

On February 20, 2023, conservative YouTuber Benny Johnson of The Benny Johnson Show released his story about O’Keefe’s firing. Within the video, Johnson played the recording O’Keefe released to explain what his next steps would be and to expose the questionable acts of those members engaged in his ousting. In O’Keefe’s final words in his video response to supporters that he would be packing his belongings and leaving PV.

In response, on February 20, Project Veritas released the following on Twitter:

Statement from the Project Veritas’ Board of Directors

Today, James O’Keefe decided to remove his belongings from Project Veritas headquarters. The Board and Management made numerous attempts in the last 14 days to have a conversation with James, but he ignored our outreach and decided to instead leak private information to others, either by doing so himself or by proxy.
As today is President’s Day, our office was closed. We had a Board meeting scheduled for tomorrow where James was invited, and there was also a Board meeting on Friday, February 10, where James was invited (but did not attend) to discuss the financial malfeasance that was discovered, which requires us to act in order to remain in compliance with the law.

There were two subjects that the Board wished to come to terms with James on: the company’s long-term sustainability based on staff retention and morale, and the company’s financial health — which has been a serious concern for several months now.

Although PV Leadership has not concluded looking into the full scale of financial issues over the years, a preliminary review at this time indicates that James has spent an excessive amount of donor funds in the last three years on personal luxuries. More is still being uncovered during the ongoing review at this time. Contrary to many reports from today, James was suspended indefinitely pending the resolution of a fulsome investigation and clarity which will need to be provided by a third party investigative audit report.

Here are a few examples of what has been uncovered so far by PV Leadership (this is far from an exhaustive list, it is merely a small representative sample):

-$14,000 on a charter flight to meet someone to fix his boat under the guise of meeting with a donor

-$60,000 in losses by putting together dance events such as Project Veritas Experience

-Over $150,000 in Black Cars in the last 18 months

-Thousands of dollars spent on DJ and other equipment for personal use

-Hundreds of other acts of personal inurement

The Board wants to work things out with James, and has tried every route possible to remedy the issues at hand and begin to take the legally required corrective actions.

James also left us no choice but to suspend him in the last few weeks when he unilaterally fired the CFO, who can only be fired with Board approval. That is a violation of our non-profit's bylaws. James went as far as to say that a Board member had approved this firing to others, but it was later discovered that it was not the case. That member did not approve the firing. The Board approved James' suspension so it would have time to properly investigate these internal infractions.

The Board has a legal obligation to comply with state and federal law, and these matters are serious ones that cannot be ignored.

James claims that the Board did not allow him to send an apology letter to the staff, which is not true. The Board never told James he was not to speak with staff members, nor that he could not apologize to them.

But, more than anything, the Board cares about the donors of this organization, who decide to donate their hard-earned money to us because they believe in the mission. We could not allow for our donors to send us money and have it be misappropriated in such a way. We love our supporters, and we would never sit idly by as money is being used for matters that are not mission related.

Even with all of this public fallout, the Board still wants to speak with James. We did not fire him, nor do we want him to resign. We would like to continue conversations with James to resolve internal matters rather than litigate them publicly.

Project Veritas will continue to be transparent with the public as more information can be released over time. The fight for truth will never stop.

The undercover footage of Walker caught the attention of Congress. Congress found the reported action between Pfizer and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) On February 13, 2023, Congress sent a letter to Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerna,  Commissioner Honorable Robert M. Califf with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Acting Director of the National Institutes of Health Lawrence A Tabak, D.D.S., Ph.D.
